Cho Chang is a Ravenclaw student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and a year ahead of Harry Potter. A talented Quidditch player, she plays Seeker for the Ravenclaw team. Her first appearance is in *Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban* (book) when Harry notices her during a Quidditch match.
Throughout the series, Cho is depicted as a popular and attractive girl. She captures Harry's attention, and they eventually share a brief romantic relationship in *Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix*. However, their relationship is strained by Harry's connection to Cedric Diggory, Cho's previous boyfriend who died in the previous school year.
Later in the series, Cho becomes involved in Dumbledore's Army and takes part in the Battle of Hogwarts.
